The inception of Majida El Shaar’s journey into the world of mosaics can be traced back to a pivotal suggestion from her dear and cherished friend, Amani (may her soul rest in peace). When Amani proposed the idea, Majida embraced it with a spontaneous “why not?”—a moment of curiosity that soon grew into a profound and lasting dedication to the art form.
Since 2013, Majida has been attending mosaic workshops in the historic city of Venice at the renowned Orsoni Institute. Every moment spent crafting mosaic pieces in her beloved little atelier has brought her immense joy and creative fulfillment.
Motivated by a desire to honor Amani’s memory and her passion for mosaics, Majida set out to share this artistic tradition with others. She began leading workshops for individuals who, like her, found themselves captivated by the intricate world of mosaics. Today, after years of devoted practice, she continues to approach her craft with a sense of playfulness—ensuring that the flame of passion for mosaics remains alive within her and within those she has been privileged to inspire.
